Orix BlueWave outfielder So Taguchi and veteran Chunichi Dragons southpaw Yukinaga Maeda have filed for free agency, officials of their clubs said Monday.
Taguchi, who joined Orix in 1992 as a top draft pick and had a batting average of .280 with 42 RBIs and eight home runs in the Pacific League in 2001, has drawn interest from the Yomiuri Giants and the Hanshin Tigers as well as several major league clubs.
Maeda went 4-10 in 36 games in 2001, including 12 starts and 24 relief appearances.
