Japan and Jubilo Iwata midfielder Hiroshi Nanami has had surgery on his injured knee and will be sidelined for about three months, officials of the J. League first division side said Friday.
Nanami, who had bone chips removed from his right knee at a Tokyo hospital, will be hospitalized for three or four days before beginning a rehabilitation process in anticipation of returning to action in January.
Hong out for season
KASHIWA, Chiba Pref. (Kyodo) The injury to Kashiwa Reysol defender Hong Myung Bo was worse than initially thought and the South Korea skipper is expected to be out for the rest of the J. League season, club officials said Thursday.
