Seibu Lions coach Haruki Ihara showed no signs of hesitation Wednesday when he was asked for his personal thoughts on becoming the Pacific League club's new manager for next season.

Ihara, rumored to be the leading candidate for manager after veteran catcher Tsutomu Ito declined the offer Friday, said he was waiting for an offer from the club and could not do anything until then. "I have not had a formal offer from the club yet. But I see no reason why I should not accept," Ihara said.
