A steady rainfall covering much of central and eastern Japan on Wednesday washed out games in Tokyo and Yokohama as the Central League nears the conclusion of the 2001 season.
The newly crowned CL champion Yakult Swallows saw their matchup with the Hiroshima Carp at Jingu Stadium in Tokyo get rained out while the season's finale between the Yokohama BayStars and Chunichi Dragons at Yokohama Stadium was postponed, also due to rain.
Hiroshima and Yokohama are battling for third place.
