LENS, France -- Japan bowed to Senegal, a World Cup qualifier from Africa, 2-0 in a friendly on Thursday night at Stade Felix Bollaert in Lens, France.
Senegal and Lens striker El Hadji Ouseynou Diouf fired a free kick directly into the goal in the 32nd minute and substitute forward Pape Bouna Thiaw struck during the second-half injury time.
Japan will next play Nigeria, another African World Cup qualifier, on Sunday at Southampton, England.
