Kazuyoshi Suzuki completed 19 of 27 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Kajima Deers to a 21-7 victory over the Fujitsu Frontiers in X League East Division action Wednesday at the Tokyo Dome.
The Deers improved to 2-0 in the five-game regular season and took a big step toward capturing their first division title in two years.
Two of the three teams they face later this season have never had a winning season in Division One.
The Deers have a crucial clash with the Nissan Skyliners (2-0) on Oct. 13 at the Seibu Dome. The Frontiers slipped to 1-1.
