IWATA, Shizuoka Pref. -- Jubilo forward Norihisa Shimizu scored in the second half to give Iwata a 1-0 win over the Kashima Antlers in the first leg of the Nabisco Cup semifinals Wednesday night at Jubilo Iwata Stadium.
In the other semifinal first leg, Shunsuke Nakamura's goal in the 62nd minute gave the Yokohama F. Marinos a 1-0 win over Grampus Eight at Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya. The second leg matches will be held Oct. 10.
Jubilo had more possession but struggled to break down Kashima's defense in the first half. Their efforts paid off nine minutes after the break with Shimizu's goal.
