Two-time Japan Open champion Naomichi "Joe" Ozaki said Tuesday he has decided to quit the U.S. PGA Tour after eight years on the world's toughest circuit.
Ozaki, 45, said he will withdraw from all remaining tournaments in the United States this year, leaving Greater Milwaukee Open champion Shigeki Maruyama as the only Japanese player with an official exemption on the American Tour.
Ozaki, who has won 29 titles on the Japanese pro circuit, plans to concentrate on the domestic tour from next season but still hopes to travel overseas for the four majors and the World Golf Championships events.
