Olympic and world champion Wang Nan held off a challenge from South Korea's Kim Kyung Ah on Sunday to win the women's final while world bronze medalist Chiang Peng-lung of Taiwan claimed the men's title at the Japan Open table tennis tournament.

World No. 1 Wang came from behind twice to beat Kim 7-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 at Kobe municipal gymnasium for her third straight victory at the annual competition on the International Table Tennis Federation's professional circuit.

Chiang, ranked fifth in the world, downed Joo Se Hyuk of South Korea 11-4, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6.
