A brand-new Saitama Stadium 2002, one of the 10 World Cup venues in Japan, will be open to the general public on Oct. 6-8.
The 63,700-seater stadium will stage a J. League Division One game between the Urawa Reds and the Yokohama F. Marinos on Oct. 13 as its official curtain-raiser. Ahead of that, an opening ceremony and some other events, including a training session by the Urawa Reds, will be held on Oct. 6 in an attempt to introduce the stadium to the general public.
Stadium tours will also take place during 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 8 with free admission.
The stadium is 15-20 minutes on foot from Urawa Misono station on the Saitama Kosoku Tetsudo Line. Special bus services will be available from JR Urawa, JR Higashi-Urawa stations as well as Kita-Koshigaya station on the Tobu Isezaki Line during these three days.
