Japan striker Akinori Nishizawa capped a sparkling debut by scoring a dramatic injury-time equalizer in Bolton Wanderers' 4-3 win over first-division Walsall in the second round of the Worthington Cup on Tuesday night.

Nishizawa slotted home deep in stoppage time finishing off a mazy run inside the box to rescue the Premier League leader after goals from Darren Byfield and Tony Barras had given Walsall a shock 3-2 lead four minutes from time at Reebok Stadium.

The 25-year-old marksman, who has had to settle for a place on the substitutes bench since joining Bolton on a 10-month loan deal from Cerezo Osaka in July, played down the importance of his contribution, modestly describing his goal as "no big deal."

"One of our players appeared to be blocking the (Walsall) keeper's view so I just thought I'd have a pop. It's no big deal really," said Nishizawa.

Second-half substitute Henrik Pedersen struck a crisp left-foot volley in the 97th minute to seal the win and book Bolton's place in the third round.
