KAWASAKI -- The Yokohama F. Marinos set up a Nabisco Cup semifinal showcase with Nagoya Grampus Eight after beating Division Two club Kawasaki Frontale 5-0 on aggregate Wednesday night.

In the other second leg of the quarterfinals, which had been postponed from last Wednesday because of a typhoon, defending champion Kashima Antlers overcame a 1-0 first-leg deficit to beat the nine-man Urawa Reds 2-0 in extra time at home for a 2-1 aggregate victory.

At Kashima Stadium, Urawa defender Masami Ihara and his teammate Emerson were sent off shortly before halftime after collecting two yellow cards apiece.

A second-half goal from Kashima defender Yutaka Akita and an extra-time winner from Yoshiyuki Hasegawa canceled out Urawa's 1-0 first-leg lead setting up a semifinal showdown with Jubilo Iwata.

At Kawasaki's Todoroki Stadium, Brito scored two goals in the Marinos' 2-0 second-leg win. The Brazilian forward struck a volley in the seventh minute off a cross from left winger Dutra. Brito later knocked in a header off a Shunsuke Nakamura free kick in the 51st minute.

Kawaguchi must wait

Yokohama F. Marinos will continue transfer negotiations for their goalkeeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi with English Division One club Portsmouth for a possible move after the end of this Japanese season, the J. League Division One club's general manager Katsunori Nakamura said Wednesday night.

Nakamura had talks with Portsmouth officials over the weekend in England and confirmed the club's official offer.
