Leading 2-1 in the fifth, the Lions added a run with an RBI single by Hiroaki Ueda. In the sixth, Seibu scored four runs on five hits, highlighted by Scott McClain's three-run blast -- his 32nd homer of the year.

The BlueWave outhit the Lions 13-9, but hit into a double play four times.

Daiei scored effectively on seven hits as the PL frontrunner came from behind to beat lowly Nippon Ham at the Tokyo Dome for its third straight win.

In the first inning, Fighters first baseman Michihiro Ogasawara scored for his 17th straight game, breaking the old Japanese pro ball record of 16 for consecuutive games with a run scored formerly set by Shosei Go of Mainichi in 1950.
