Kazuo Matsui drilled a go-ahead two-run clout in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Seibu Lions won their fourth straight by beating the Nippon Ham Fighters 3-1 at the Seibu Dome on Tuesday.
The Lions are now in second place in the Pacific League standings, half-a-game ahead of the idle Kintetsu Buffaloes.
Shinji Mori picked up the win, pitching 21/3 innings in relief of starter Mitsutaka Goto, who held Nippon Ham to one hit over 52/3 innings.
