Sports aerobics gold medalist Yuriko Ito has vowed to bring home the gold medal at the sixth World Games getting under way Thursday.
The 32-year-old Aichi Pref. native said Wednesday before a rehearsal she is prepared to outperform her opponents in the dance sport and hopes to enjoy herself at the same time.
Ito is a three-time world champion in the women's individual event.
Athletes competing in the two-day event starting Friday at Akita City Gymnasium will be judged on their artistic and technical ability to render a series of high-intensity, choreographed maneuvers in time with their own music selections lasting 1 minute and 45 seconds.
