SAITAMA -- Shinji Ono, playing in his final home game before moving to Dutch club Feyenoord, struck the tie-breaking goal in the second half as the Urawa Reds beat JEF United Ichihara 3-1 on Saturday night.
Urawa stretched its unbeaten streak against Ichihara to five while Ichihara's winning run in league play ended at five. JEF dropped to third in the league while Urawa jumped to ninth.
Playing before a sellout crowd of 19,978 at Urawa's Komaba Stadium, Ono scored his 20th league goal two minutes into the second half. He took a free kick from 25 meters out that bounced off the JEF defensive wall and sailed over Ichihara goalkeeper Ryo Kushino and off the right post. Brazilian forward Tuto added an insurance goal off a fine scoop pass from Adriano in the 64th minute.
