The Urawa Reds of the J. League's first division said Monday that Japanese international midfielder Shinji Ono will move to Dutch club Feyenoord on a five-year contract.

The announcement was made after Urawa and Feyenoord reached a basic accord on a full transfer of the 21-year-old Ono in late June but their negotiations later hit a snag over the transfer fee and the timing of his move.

Soccer sources said both clubs agreed on a transfer fee of about 450 million yen for the Shizuoka native, who was instrumental in Japan's recent successful Confederations Cup and Kirin Cup campaigns. Ono is scheduled to join the 14-time Dutch champions shortly after the J. League's first stage ends July 21 in preparations for the new Dutch league season, which kicks off Aug. 19.
