Yokohama catcher Motonobu Tanishige slugged a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth off Yomiuri reliever Tsuyoshi Jobe, lifting the BayStars to a 5-1 "sayonara" victory over the Giants at Yokohama Stadium on Saturday.
With the game tied 1-1 in the ninth, Takanori Suzuki led off the inning with a double, his third hit of the night, to right-center field.
After Suzuki advanced to third on a sacrifice, Jobe (6-6) walked the next two batters intentionally to load the bases.
