Yomiuri starter Darrell May (6-3) scattered eight hits over seven-plus innings at Jingu Stadium for the win, while Tsuyoshi Jobe fanned four in the final two innings for his sixth save.
Yoshinobu Takahashi added a solo shot for the Giants.
