Japan No. 1 Ai Sugiyama rebounded after losing the opening set Wednesday to advance to the third round of the women's singles event at Wimbledon with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Russia's Anastasia Myskina.
Sugiyama, stunned by the opening-set loss to the 19-year-old Russian, collected herself during the break and stormed back, breaking Myskina's service in the seventh game of the second set at the All England Club as she advanced to the next round.
