Jeremy Powell, pitching his first game in Japan, struggled over six-plus innings but picked up the win as the Kintetsu Buffaloes edged the Daiei Hawks 6-5 at the Osaka Dome on Sunday.
Powell, who joined the Buffaloes in mid-June, gave up five runs on 10 hits over six-plus innings.
Tied 2-2 in the third, Kintetsu took the lead on two-run dingers by Norihiro Nakamura -- his 25th of the year -- and Yuji Yoshioka.
