Yuji Yoshioka went 5-for-5 and drove in eight runs in a nine-homer slug fest as the Kintetsu Buffaloes romped over the Daiei Hawks 18-9 on Friday night at the Osaka Dome.
In Kintetsu's 19-hit rampage, Naoyuki Ohmura hit a solo homer to highlight Kintetsu's four-run third inning and Norihiro Nakamura powered a two-run homer, his 24th, in a six-run fourth inning to send starter Brady Raggio (7-1) to an early shower.
Yoshioka then homered for a run before Kenshi Kawaguchi followed with a solo homer, both off reliever Shintaro Yoshitake. Yoshioka hammered a grand slam in a five-run fifth inning off second reliever Tomohiro Nagai. Tuffy Rhodes belted a solo homer, his 28th of the season, in a three-run seventh inning.
