Tadahito Iguchi went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs as the Pacific League-leading Fukuoka Daiei Hawks won their seventh straight game by defeating the Kintetsu Buffaloes 9-5 Tuesday at the Fukuoka Dome. Junji Hoshino (6-4) allowed seven hits over 61/3 innings for the win.
Iguchi blasted a two-run home run off Kintetsu starter Katsuhiko Maekawa (8-6) in the first inning and Hiroki Kokubo singled home two runs with the bases loaded in the third for a 4-0 lead.
The Buffaloes narrowed the gap to 5-2 later in the game, but Fukuoka added three runs on Yusuke Torigoe's squeeze bunt and back-to-back RBI singles by Pedro Valdez and Iguchi in the sixth to put the game away.
