Hirokazu Ibata singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning as the Chunichi Dragons won their third straight by beating the Yomiuri Giants 5-3 at the Tokyo Dome on Wednesday.
The loss is the seventh straight for the defending Japan Series champion, and its longest skid in six years.
With the win, Chunichi grabbed sole possession of second place in the Central League standings. Yomiuri still leads the CL in number of wins but is in third place in wins percentage.
