Hiroshima slugger Tomoaki Kanemoto drilled a go-ahead three-run homer off Yomiuri starter Yusaku Iriki in the eighth inning as the Carp completed a three-game sweep of the Giants with a 5-4 victory at the Tokyo Dome on Sunday.
Trailing 3-2 in the eighth with one out, Akihiro Higashide and Eddy Diaz hit back-to-back singles before Kanemoto slammed his sixth roundtripper of the year to hand the Giants their fifth consecutive loss. Yusaku Iriki (6-1) took his first loss of the year, giving up five runs over 71/3 innings.
Reliever Kanei Kobayashi pitched a scoreless seventh for the win, while former Nippon Ham closer Eric Schullstrom worked the ninth and notched his 10th save.
