SEOUL -- FIFA president Sepp Blatter put a positive spin on the problems surrounding the collapse of its marketing partners ISMM/ISL on Tuesday to emphasize the positive aspects of a big year ahead in the world soccer calendar.
The head of soccer's organizing body, speaking to members of the media on the eve of the Confederations Cup, said:
"Hopefully, the bankruptcy proceedings involving FIFA's marketing partner ISL and ISMM, FIFA's television partner, will have no negative influence on the organization of the Confederations Cup and the World Cup in 2002."
