Taichi Teshima fired a course-record 66 Friday to move into a tie for the lead with Shoichi Yamamoto, Dinesh Chand of Fiji and Australian Shane Tait midway through the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup golf tournament.

Teshima broke the Rokko Kokusai Golf Club course record with six birdies in a bogey-free round to put himself in contention at 7-under 137 as the ninth-year pro kept his consistency on the tour following three consecutive top-10 finishes.

Kido grabs lead

TOYOTA, Aichi Pref. (Kyodo) Fuki Kido sank three straight birdies on the front end of a 4-under-par 68 on Friday to grab a share of the lead in the 50 million yen Chukyo TV Bridgestone Ladies golf tournament.

Yuri Fudo, the top money winner on last year's tour, eagled the 458-yard 13th hole, but also had three bogeys to go with her three birdies to finish the day at 2-under 70 in a six-way tie for fifth.
