Roberto Petagine hit his second two-run homer of the day in the eighth inning to give the Yakult Swallows a 15-11 win over the stubborn Hiroshima Carp, who came back from four-run and six-run deficits Sunday.
Petagine connected for his 11th and 12th homers and drove in four runs to boost his total to 30 RBIs this season and take the Central League lead in both batting categories, while spoiling a three-homer day for fellow Venezuelan Eddy Diaz.
In all, 10 homers were hit in the game, with Yakult southpaw Tatsuki Yamamoto (2-1) getting the win after facing just three batters in the seventh. Masato Kawano (0-2), who gave up a two-run double to Atsunori Inaba and Petagine's second homer in the eighth, took the loss.
