Taiwanese journeyman Lin Keng-chi shot a 4-under-par 67 Saturday to open up a five-stroke lead at the Fujisankei Classic golf tournament, stepping closer to an elusive title in Japan.

Lin, who began the day tied with Tsuyoshi Yoneyama, carded five birdies and a bogey to take a comfortable lead with a 10-under 203 total after three rounds on the par-71 Kawana Hotel Golf Course in Shizuoka Prefecture.

A chip-in for birdie on the par-4 seventh and a tap-in birdie from one foot at the par-5 16th highlighted solid course management by the 34-year-old Lin.

Lin, in his sixth full season on the Japanese tour, added that the 22 million yen first prize -- the biggest paycheck in his career -- would enable him to buy a house in Nagoya to live in with his wife and two children.

Tsukasa Watanabe shot his second straight 69 to move into second place at 5-under 208.
