Brazilian striker Ueslei grabbed his fourth goal of the season Thursday as Nagoya Grampus Eight won 3-1 at home to Cerezo Osaka to move within four points of J. League leader Jubilo Iwata.
A terrible defensive mixup between Cerezo goalkeeper Kazumasa Kawano and defender Daisuke Saito presented Ueslei with the simple task of nodding into an empty net and giving the home side the lead in the 62nd minute.
Second-half substitute Tetsuya Okayama stabbed home a Dragan Stojkovic pass to double the advantage two minutes later and, after Yoshito Okubo pulled one back for the visitors in the 79th, Okayama set up Naoki Hiraoka to seal the win three minutes from time.
