The Chunichi Dragons took Yomiuri's pitchers for a ride on Tuesday night -- and what a wild ride it was.
The Dragons racked up a Central League season-high 24 hits, including four home runs, en route to a 17-0 victory over the Giants at the Tokyo Dome. In the third inning, Chunichi shortstop Hirokazu Ibata broke a scoreless game with an RBI single off Yomiuri lefty Kimiyasu Kudo. The Dragons could've stopped there, but the fun was just beginning. They added 16 more insurance runs for good measure. By the time the inning ended, the Drags owned an eight-run lead.
Kudo (1-3) was tagged with the loss after giving up eight runs on 10 hits over three innings.
