Japan's Hayato Asai will take on champion Pongsaklek Singwangcha of Thailand for the World Boxing Council flyweight title in July, Japanese boxing officials said Friday.
The July 15 fight at Aichi Budokan in Nagoya will be the first shot at a world title for seventh-ranked Asai and the first title defense for Pongsaklek, who deposed Malcolm Tunacao of the Philippines with a first-round technical knockout on March 2.
