J. League leader Jubilo Iwata pulled out an eventful victory over Cerezo on Saturday, edging the Osaka club 3-2 in Iwata thanks to a last-minute goal by Naohiro Takahara.
Both teams played for an hour with 10 men after Jubilo's Makoto Tanaka and Cerezo's Yoshito Okubo were sent off after a clash in the 32nd minute. Okubo scored Cerezo's first goal in the eighth minute and the visitors went 2-0 up through Masaya Nishitani six minutes before halftime.
Jubilo, which has a 100 percent record in the league this year, started its fightback two minutes after the break as Hiroshi Nanami struck home a rebound and Masashi Nakayama leveled the scores seven minutes later. Takahara then scored with a header from a Nobuo Kawaguchi cross in the dying moments.
