Joint host Japan was matched with Brazil, Cameroon and Canada in Group B at the draw for this year's Confederations Cup, held in South Korea on Wednesday.

South Korea, staging the May 30-June 10 tournament along with Japan as a rehearsal for next year's World Cup finals, will play France, Mexico and Australia in Group A. Japan will open against Canada at Niigata Stadium on May 31, before playing Cameroon at the same venue two days later and finally Brazil at Kashima Stadium in Ibaraki Prefecture on June 4.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals, to be played June 7, with the final to be held at International Stadium Yokohama, venue for the 2002 World Cup final, on June 10.
