Tiger Woods may be the runaway favorite for this week's Masters, but don't expect everything to go Tiger's way. His "slump" showed that the gap between him and the competition is not as great as some people thought.

One of my picks this year is 40-year-old Mark Calcavecchia. Earlier this season, he set a new PGA Tour record at the Phoenix Open with a 72-hole score of 256, breaking Mike Souchak's all-time scoring record of 257, set in 1955 at San Antonio, Texas.

Calcavecchia attributed his success to two things: his Ping TiSi driver with its unique two-piece shaft, and his new ball, the Titleist Pro V1.
