OSAKA -- Spanish First Division side Espanyol has asked Cerezo Osaka to extend its seven-month loan deal for the services of Japan striker Akinori Nishizawa, informed sources said Wednesday.
According to the sources, Espanyol contacted the J. League First Division club by fax Tuesday indicating they would like to keep Nishizawa at the Barcelona club for another year when his current contract expires in June.
