South Korean World Cup striker Choi Yong Soo, who signed for side JEF United Ichihara after the close of last season, has injured the ligaments in his right knee and could miss the March 10 season opener.
Club officials said Monday that the 27-year-old Choi picked up the injury a practice match on Sunday.
