Robert Kwiatkowski and Mariusz Wojciechowski scored in the first minute of the second period Sunday to spark Poland to a 5-3 win over Japan and give the Poles the Nagano Cup Olympic ice hockey memorial crown.

Kwiatkowski beat Dusty Imoo 29 seconds in and Wojciechowski followed 24 seconds later in a five-goal second period for Poland, which had been held scoreless in the first period by the Japanese goalie at the Big Hat arena.

Kwiatkowski added an assist on the fifth goal of the stanza from Sebastian Gonera as Poland finished the three-team round-robin meet with a pair of wins.

Canada finished the tournament in second.
