Gamba Osaka defender Tsuneyasu Miyamoto failed to reach an agreement with English Premier League side West Ham and has signed a one-year contract extension with Gamba, the J. League team announced Friday.
Miyamoto had been negotiating with the Hammers but failed to reach agreement on some conditions, Gamba said.
"I think I should not waste time in deciding which team I should be with as I'm scheduled to join the national team's camp next month," Miyamoto said.
