The brand-new 50,000-seat Tokyo Stadium in Chofu City will be open to the general public on Feb. 10-12 ahead of its curtain-raiser with a J. League season-opening game.
Tokyo Stadium will be used as the home venue for J. League clubs Tokyo Verdy 1969, which left Kawasaki at the end of last season, and FC Tokyo. The two Division One clubs will play against each other in the new season's opener March 10. The stadium will also hold rugby and football games.
Visitors during the three days in February can have a look at various stadium facilities, including players' dressing rooms, VIP rooms and the field. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Entrance will be closed at 3 p.m.). Admission is free. The stadium is about a 5-minute walk from Tobitakyu Station on the Keio Line.
