The Chunichi Dragons on Tuesday gave Takeshi Yamasaki a 20 million yen raise and re-signed the infield slugger for 120 million yen.

Yamasaki hit better than .300 for the first time in four years (.311), but Chunichi officials decided that, as his home run (18) and RBIs (68) were down from the year before, they would hold back raising his contract for the upcoming season any further.
