YOKOHAMA -- Soccer players from the South Korean K. League and the Japanese J. League on Wednesday night played alongside each other for the first time ever in an official game when they drew a World XI 1-1 in an exhibition match at International Stadium Yokohama.
Suwon Samsung midfielder Ko Jong Su put the Japan-Korea XI ahead in the 18th minute, firing in a free kick past the outstretched hands of World XI goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert.
But Croatian international Robert Prosinecki of Standard Liege struck an equalizer with a beautiful 20-meter blast in the 73rd minute.
