Former Japan striker Wagner Lopes on Tuesday agreed to join FC Tokyo after two seasons at Nagoya Grampus Eight.
The 31-year-old target man, who earlier this month rejected an offer for a spot on Nagoya's coaching staff, has been lined up by FC Tokyo to replace Brazilian Tuto, who moved on after finishing as the club's top scorer this past season.
The Brazilian-born Lopes, increasingly confined to the Nagoya bench this season, was a member of Japan's 1998 World Cup squad in France.
