The Orix BlueWave hope to speak with South Korean southpaw Koo Dae Sung with hopes of enticing the Hanhwa Eagles ace to play in Japan, Orix officials said Thursday.

Orix manager Akira Ogi and team president Yutaka Okazoe plan to show the 31-year-old left-hander around the BlueWave's home ballpark and facilities and then talk about the possibility of Koo playing in Japan.

Orix as well as the New York Mets have shown an interest in Koo, who threw a complete game in South Korea's 3-1 triumph over the Japanese national team in the bronze medal game at the Sydney Olympic Games in September.

Koo, who is currently in Japan for an exhibition series, said he plans to meet with representatives from the major leagues when he returns to South Korea.
