Overnight leader Aki Takamura held onto a one-stroke lead in the 60 million yen JLPGA Tour Championship golf tournament after Saturday's third round despite a score of 1-over-par 73.

Takamura, who fired a 67 Friday, carded a pair of bogeys against a lone birdie on the ninth hole to take a 5-under-par 211 into Sunday's final round.

Aki Nakano, meanwhile, birdied two of the last three holes for a 70, after an adventurous first 15 holes that included four birdies and four bogeys, to climb into second place with a 4-under 212.

Suzuki up by three

KAIMON, Kagoshima Pref. (Kyodo) Overnight co-leader Toru Suzuki fired a 7-under 65 Saturday to open up a three-shot lead heading into the final round of the 140 million yen Casio World Open.

First-round leader Katsunori Kuwabara shot a 67 stand alone in second at 19-under 203. Tour veteran Masashi "Jumbo" Ozaki had his third straight 68 and lies in a two-way tie for third with Bob May of the U.S., who shot a 67 to leave both golfers with a 54-hole total of 204.
