Toshimitsu Izawa took advantage of his long drives and capitalized on a wobbly round by overnight leader Katsumasa Miyamoto on Sunday to win the Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters by one shot after a helter-skelter 1-under 71.

Izawa birdied the final hole to hold off Keiichiro Fukabori as he claimed his seventh career victory and third of the season with a 72-hole total of 14-under 274 at the Taiheiyo Club Gotemba Course.

The 32-year-old Izawa, who began the day two strokes off the pace, eagled the par-5 sixth to emerge as joint leader and then moved into a one-shot lead when Miyamoto bogeyed No. 9.

Both players carded three straight bogeys on the inward nine as the wind picked up, allowing Fukabori a chance to win back-to-back tour events following his victory at last week's Ube Kosan Open.
