-- Sydney Olympic teammates Kenichi Fujita and Akihiro Kasamatsu claimed one title each in the apparatus finals Sunday, while all-around champion Naoya Tsukahara was shut out at the national gymnastics championships.

Fujita took the vault title with 9.700 points, beating Tsukahara into second place by 0.175, as the six men's disciplines produced six different winners at the Miyagi Prefectural Sports Center. Kasamatsu edged pommel-horse specialist Takehiro Kashima to claim his second straight crown with 9.750 points. Atsushi Saito took the floor exercise crown with 9.475 and Akifumi Sasaki prevailed on the horizontal bars with 9.700.

Keiichi Nishimura and Masato Hiramoto won the rings and parallel bars, respectively, with identical scores of 9.675. Tsukahara, crowned the national all-around champion for a record-tying fifth time Saturday, had only two top-three finishes in the apparatus finals -- second in the vault and third in the floor exercise.

NAGANO (Kyodo) Nagano Olympic gold-medalist Hiroyasu Shimizu showed his supremacy on the rink for the second straight day Sunday as he completed a sprint double at the national single-distance speedskating championships.
