Lorie Kane of Canada beat Sweden's Sophie Gustafson on the first playoff hole Sunday to win the Mizuno Classic after overcoming a three-shot deficit with a final-round 66.

Kane birdied the extra hole -- the 540-yard 18th -- from five feet to seal her third win of the year after Gustafson missed a birdie attempt from 20 feet. Both players finished the regulation 54 holes at 12-under 204 at Seta Golf Course.

Japan's Yuri Fudo, who moved into contention after a second-round 65, closed with an unimpressive 70 for third place at 10-under 206. But the result assured the 24-year-old her first season money title with three tournaments left on the Japan LPGA circuit.

In her fifth year as a pro, Fudo, a six-time winner this year, became the Japanese Tour's first 100 million yen player in a single season with total prize money of 112 million yen after the Mizuno Classic.

Fukabori victorious

AJISU, Yamaguchi Pref. (Kyodo) Keiichiro Fukabori came from three shots down to win the Ube Kosan Open with a final-round 65 on Sunday, snatching his fourth career victory and second of the year on the Japanese tour.

Fukabori birdied seven of the first 11 holes in a bogey-free round on his way to a 12-under 276 total for a three-stroke victory.

Toru Taniguchi shot a 69 to finish tied for second at 9-under 279 along with winless 20th-year pro Tatsuya Shiraishi, who had a 70.
