Choi Chang Shin, general secretary of the South Korean 2002 World Cup Organizing Committee (KOWOC), has submitted a letter of resignation to take responsibility for a Web site hacking incident, the committee said Thursday

KOWOC's English Web site was recently changed by a hacker and some inappropriate comments were posted describing the country

Choi's resignation has not been accepted thus far, but public relations director-general Bang Suk Soon's resignation offer, also over the hacking incident, was accepted

The former chairman of the KOWOC, Park Seh Jik, resigned in August.
