The Daiei Hawks squeezed three runs out of four hits Saturday to edge the Nippon Ham Fighters 3-2 at Tokyo Dome and tighten their grip on the Pacific League pennant with their fourth straight win.
With the win, Daiei lowered its magic number to four.
Kenji Jojima singled with the bases loaded in the first inning for Daiei's first two runs and Hiroki Kokubo sacrificed home an insurance in the sixth that gave the Hawks their 70th win of the season.
